Dear Parents and Caregivers,
School will be beginning shortly and below is some key information that you will want to be aware of in preparation for your child’s return to school or if your child is attending our school for the first time. Further information will be sent out via email and posted on the webpage Monday, August 31st.
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 8th. Students enrolled in grades 1 – 6 will attend school for one hour from 9 – 10 am.
Kindergarten students will not attend Tuesday, and they will be on a gradual reentry throughout the week. Further information for our new Kindergarten students will be sent via post and email. If you do not receive the information by next Wednesday, September 2nd, please call us and we will get the information to you asap.
If your child plans to attend our school but you are NOT able to come on the first day, please let us know so we can keep you in our numbers.
Students in grades 1 – 6 who are new to the school will meet in the gym and after the bell, will be taken to the a class of their peers. You might be nervous! Don’t worry. We are a very friendly school!
We will be having a Welcome Assembly at 9:30 and parents are welcome to attend. At that assembly the staff will be introduced including the new principal and vice principal!
School supplies – there is a change this year and instead of parents purchasing supplies we are asking parents to pay $45 that will cover all the required supplies your child needs for the school year. The supplies should be here when the students arrive and the payment can be done the first week of school.
The administration team Rose Mackenzie (principal) and Chris Matheson (vice-principal) will be in the week of August 31st to September 4th. Please email, call or drop by with your questions or just to say hello.
We look forward in meeting the students and families of Ecole Squamish Elementary and the staff are very excited about the new school year.
