What’s Happening at SQE week of Jan 20th to 24th

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are wrapping up Literacy Week tomorrow by inviting all parents to come to SQE and read with their child/children on from 9-9:30am in their classrooms. We hope to see you there!

Literacy Week

Literacy week is a great opportunity for our school and community to promote literacy and foster a life-long love of reading in our students.  Throughout the week students will take part in a school-wide Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R.), engage in literacy activities and be visited by guest readers! We will be wrapping up Literacy Week by inviting all parents to come to SQE and read with their child/children on Friday January 24th from 9-9:30am in their classrooms. We hope to see you there!

Book Review Challenge

The Library is having a Book Review Challenge. Complete a Book Review sheet from the Library for every book you read and submit it back to the Library to be entered. You can also complete a review online using Destiny Discover. Tell us what you think of each book and give it a rating out of 5 stars! Each completed Book Review is an entry into a book draw.

***Literacy Week K/1 Story Night***

There will be a story night on Wednesday, January 22th from 6-6:45pm for Kindergarten and grade one students and their parents.  Come listen to some great stories in the Library. Don’t forget to wear your PJs!  Cookies and milk will be provided

Clan Art Contest

Thank you to Art Harry and Ms B., the students were able to create beautiful art.  We are holding a contest for the top three art pieces from the ones displayed in the lobby.  Each student can cast one vote at the office until Fri next week.

Kindergarten and French Immersion Registration for 2020/2021 School Year

Jan 20 – Early Fr Immersion Information Meeting – Eagle Eye Theatre at HSSS, 7 pm (rescheduled)

Jan 21-24 – Kindergarten Registration (Fr. Imm and English)


Missoula Children’s Theatre

“The Tortoise and the Hare” performances are on Sat at 2pm and 6 pm.  Everyone is invited! Tickets are sold in advance.

ERASE (Expect Respect & a Safe Education)

The Ministry of Education is launching a public awareness campaign for ERAS.  ERASE is a provincial strategy to support schools and districts to create safe, inclusive and welcoming school cultures that support student learning and well-being.  Please check out:
