Dear SQE community,

October ended with a flurry of activities and events such as Cross country, Fit for Life, Zero Heroes performance on recycling, Wildlife BC and Owl Sanctuary presentations, Book Author presentations, and Halloween. It is hard to believe we are already in November. Early in November we had a fabulous presentation “screenagers” with debrief activities for reflection on November 2nd and a follow up parent presentation later in the day, with over 60 parents, youth  and facilitators attending on a cold and blustery evening.

Our community of teachers are amazing. They are continuously creating engaging learning opportunities for our students. We see cross-curricular classes coming together with common purpose and multiage learning opportunities. Teachers appreciated meeting and getting to know parents, guardians and caregivers in October at our early dismissal days.

Coming soon is our major assembly on November 10th commemorating Remembrance day. Lest we forget…

A reminder our PAC meets once a month and the next meeting is Thursday, November 16th at 6 pm. ESQE PAC are a energetic and hardworking group of parents who are devoted to every student’s success and wellbeing in our school. Please check the minutes from the last meeting in October.

I send out weekly newsletters to all parents via email. If you have not receive one and wish to please contact Mrs. Plathan mplathan@sd48.bc.ca to be added to our list.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I forgot to mention in my weekly email that it is Bike to Work/School Week. thank you uber PAC chair Johanna Proudfoot for the reminder!

Please see  the link below for more info and cycling tips.

Just an FYI, I reminded all the grade 5/6 students about bike safety last week among other things which I will email tomorrow – ie. wearning a helment and walkng your bike across the street. Please remind your child as well and we will continue to remind students as they ride their bike to and from school.

Thank you in supproting this worthwhile initiative. Our school staff has a team and many of them will be riding to work as well. Alas,  a bit difficult for me as I commute from West Vancourver but I will there in spirit!

Enjoy the sunshine today and see you next week.
