Last week of school

Posted on Updated on

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Well, the end of the school year is finally here. We would like to thank the staff for their hard work and taking good care of our students. As well, we thank the parents for their support throughout the year. Most importantly, we are proud of our students for being engaged in learning!

The office is now closed and will re-open on Aug 27th at 8:30 am. The district office will not be processing student registrations this summer. Registration will be available when the school office is open.

The first day of school is on Tues, Sept 4th where the students will be in attendance from 8:55 to 10 am. For the rest of the first week, the students will be in full days. The student fee is $40 per child. There may be extra funds needed for musical instruments as we are implementing an instrumental musical program for Gr. 3 and up (Gr. 3 & 4 – recorder purchase $10, Gr.5 & 6 – harmonica purchase $15 and ukulele – school use only). The K to Gr. 2 students will still have singing and rhythm lessons. We are very excited to expand the music program at the school!

For the Kindergarten students, we have a gradual entry plan:
Wednesday, September 5th      Group One 9:15-10:25 Group Two 1:30 – 2:40 (meet at the                                                            undercover area)
Thursday, September 6th          Group One 1:30 – 2:40 Group Two 9:15 – 10:25
Friday, September 7th                Group One 9:15 – 11:15 Group Two 1-3 ( pack a snack)
Monday, September 10th           Group One 1-3 Group Two 9-11:15 (pack a snack)
Tuesday, September 11th           All 8:55-3:00 (start full day – pack recess snack and lunch)

** Your child will be assigned a group number prior to school opening.  Letters/emails have been sent home.

Thank you and have a wonderful summer!

Dear Families,

Library News

The Library is wrapping up for the School Year!  Please have a good look in the back of closets, under beds, and in your personal book collections for lost Library books!  Have you looked super hard and still can’t find your lost book? The Library will be appreciative of any donation made to help cover the cost of replacing the book.  Missing book notices will be going home with students in the next couple weeks.

A HUGE thank you to all the students, teachers, staff, PAC members and parents who have made the library such a busy and vibrant space this year!  Your love of literacy and reading is contagious!  I am sure the Library will only become busier and more exciting in the years to come!
