Caring, Kind, Friendly and Safe…

Dear Families,

VSO
The intermediate students attended the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra concert on Wed. We were treated to music from various Masters, Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner and Tchaikovsky. Also who can forget the opera singer and the Star Wars theme song conducted with a light saber! Thank you to Ms McPhee for organizing. We look forward to the primary concert in March.

Clan meeting
Today’s Clan meeting was focused on the idea of “Acceptance”. We worked on the idea of “Seeing the Person Inside” and how to recognize, accept, respect and appreciate individual differences.

PAC Meeting
The November PAC meeting is on Monday night at 6 pm. Babysitting is available.

Report Cards

The report cards will be going home on Fri, Nov 23. For the students in the CSL Pilot program, the Point of Progress report will go home on Dec 7th.

December Rummage Sale
As December is fast approaching so is our 3rd annual Christmas Gift Sale. It has been a huge success the last two years and we are asking for your help again to make this year just as successful. Kids will get a chance to buy gifts for their immediate family for $1 each. We are asking for donations of ‘gifts’, things you no longer need or want at home. Keep in mind you would be happy to receive it back. For example: kitchen gadgets, coffee/tea mugs, puzzles, games, jewelry, ties, hats, books, toys etc. We are also looking for wrapping paper and tape.
Anyone wanting to volunteer to setup during the Monday December 3 during the day, or during the event all day Tuesday December 4, please contact roslynsemjanovs@gmail.com

BOKS will not be running on the morning or Dec 4th.

Puberty 101 for Parents
Join Julie Miller and Kristin Trotter on Monday November 26th for Puberty 101 for Parents. They are going to be talking all about puberty – what to expect as bodies go through this time of growth and change, as well as how to support kiddos through the social and emotional changes that accompany their physical development. You will walk away feeling more knowledgeable about the expected changes, gain language and confidence for talking to your kiddo about it all, and have an opportunity to ask questions that you have. This event is open to ALL parents interested in gaining knowledge about this amazing stage in our children’s life. It runs between 6:30 to 8:30 and babysitting will be available.

Letter Writing Day
The letter writing day is a bit earlier this year. Families are invited to help children write to Santa and to their loved ones on Nov 30th.
